Holiday Evaluation

I really ENJOYED my holidays this year, did you? I dug a little deeper and tried to determine what was so nice, things I'd done different, things I had added and things I'd left out. I ran across a thought provoking Holiday Evaluation from my new blog friend Susan (in Georgia) at "A Southern Day Dreamer Blog: and found she had put into words just what I was thinking. So why don't you review your Holiday Season with the questions below and see if you would do things differently or do more of the same. It's an interesting thing to ponder!

Best things about this Christmas?
Special event(s) this year want to do again?
Worst thing that happened this year?
Anything eliminated to make Christmas less hectic/more meaningful?
Ways could have been better prepared?
Put off, I wish I hadn’t?
Christmas Eve what I wanted it to be?
Christmas Day ?
Open House/Family party?
Needs changing?

  1. I thought these were interesting questions. I think life is what you make it. No matter what time of the year it is. We have so.. much to be grateful for.
    "Happy New Year"

  2. You had some great after Christmas shopping! I just cold not bring myself to get out there this year. This is also the first year I didn't hit the early bird sales the day after Thanksgiving.

    Have a wonderful New Year!

P.S. Loved your ugly ornament party!

  3. Susan,
Thank you so much for stopping by...nice to beet you. Yes...I'm a Southern lady...LOL Yesterday it was is 57...and going to be in the 26s tomorrow night...We have been having crazy weather...It's snow here on Dec 12th...the snow stay about 5 hrs. I was wearing crop pant yesterday with my slip on'm wearing lon sleeves..LOL I love your blog...It's soooo CUTE! I'm am putting you on my blog list..thanks for stopping by I will be back to visit you...Have a bless day...

  4. Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am still evaluating... made notes of things I needed to do differently and decor needed...always adding more!

  5. Great questions to ponder. Is that yur beautiful black and white cat I see in a previeous post, the one by the tree? Wow what a beautiful cat. probably one of the prettiest I have see. I have a big blk and white make names charlie, he looks like he has a gigantic nose because of a black spot on his face. Poor guy.

  6. Very interesting questions...

i liked this Christmas at home... granted i missed my family dearly, but it was nice not to have to "BE" here and there and rush rush rush, ya know?

    sometimes change can be nice.

:) glad you enjoyed yours too!

  7. You got me thinking on this one. Happy New year to you~

  8. Carson is adorable...he is just my kinda dog! And those are good questions to ask yourself...but we actually have a pretty slow pace for the holidays so it's not too bad. It helps when your kids are all grown. I'm glad you had a great one!

  9. Every year our families get together for Christmas! Have beautiful turkey dinners, Spending time with our family and having a few gifts under the tree
Christmas is time to be with family and friends!
Enjoying anice bottle of wine with them
I have never sat back and thought of what not to do or what to do next year! Only thinking can't wait until next year to be with our families again!
    Happy New Year!

  10. Very thought provoking questions Susan but this year would not be the one for me to analyze Christmas traditions, etc. This year was soo different, in too many ways to list. But it was filled to overflowing w/ gratitude & that became the focus of the holidays. I have so very, very much to be thankful for. Everything else is trivial.

  11. I think that just being with the People you care about ..and having wonderful food and an enjoyable evening the best Christmas. I have to say I am not a fan of all the shopping and going crazy ... for the Day. Things that make you think ..hmmm. I can't bare going to malls at all. Too much for me. I rather go to an Antique store...or some place like that. :)

  12. I love your blog..and if you don't mind being my last new follow for the year...I am on your followers list now! thanks for the visit...and I will be back soon
    happy new year new friend!

  13. I loved your ugly ornament post. I think it sounds like a riot for my class at school or our church youth group. I really had a nice Christmas. My twin Grandsons are old enough to really enjoy it this year. Also, as I have said more than once, I need NOTHING, so there was no disappointment this year. Some years, when my kids were small and I shopped and cooked and shopped for teachers and neighbors and the minister and the bus driver and EVERYONE, I got burned out and felt sorry for myself because it was all for everyone else and nothing for me....not this year. I am happy just that my kids and grandkids want to be with me! Carol

  14. hello! I was here for Tablescape Tues. i think I'm early LOL (there is a first! ) LOL

  15. Good morning, Susan. Hope you're doing well and I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday this year. The questions you list are very good questions...I will be thinking about them all for awhile today.

    *big hugs*

  16. I always am disappointed I did not plan better for Christmas.

  17. Hey girlfriend! Hope to see you soon at the store and wishing you a beautiful & safe New Year! xo..deb

  18. Susan, wanted to stop by and say "hi" and wish you a very Happy New Year! I loved your post with the "ugly" ornaments. I wouldn't have had anything to bring....because I get rid of my ugly ones! ..what fun for the office!

  19. We had a GREAT Christmas, celebrating the birth of Christ. I'm glad your Christmas was wonderful, too.

Even though things were slightly "turned around" for us, things went without a hitch. A week before Christmas, we decided to cancel our Get-Away and stay at home for Christmas. So, that meant last-minute decorating and baking!!! But I got it all done.

    The best parts were:

    The PINK tree

    Shopping the Day AFTER Christmas!!

Thanks for stopping by...and Rub 'n Buff is ONLY metallic colors.

    ~Blessings and Happy New Year!

    Jan & Tom

  20. Susan,
Thanks for coming and visiting me. And what an absolutely fun blog you have. I love your ugly ornament party. I'll be back to see what else you have going on. It was fun.

  21. Susan, You certainly have some thought provoking questions. Events have made me re-think my priorities. I am planning to make some changes next year. Happy New Year!
