While out cruising in my neighborhood I suddenly noticed a lot of Yellow Houses. To me, it seems like a pretty and happy color to paint your home. Check out the pretty pictures below and let me know if you agree! My next posts will be blue houses, green houses, neutral house and my ALL time favorite, purple houses. And yes, believe it or not, a purple house can be REALLY pretty.
I love everything about this house. The simple front porch, the crisp cream and black accent paints, the red brick walk way, the front door and the Mondrian-esque fence on the left. Very random, but pretty! The roof line of this house is interesting. The simple, yet impactful landscaping looks like something I might be able to contract. Gotta love those knockout roses that are so easy to care for, yet so colorful!
Another picturesque cottage.....I like the use of the periwinkle-y blue/purple in the trim. Check out those 16 pane windows! The little scalloped "shingles" on the front with the window are CUTE!
And who DOESN'T like a wrap around porch. If I owned this home that would be one of my favorite places to hang out.
This bright little cutie caught my eye. You KNOW how I love cheerful, bright and colorful! Isn't the fence interesting? Great for keeping your small animals in the yard, but it doesn't block the view. Check out the little star cut-outs on the shutters. Such attention to detail!
This place just makes me sigh....it's so cool and inviting. And once again....a beautiful front porch to sit on and watch the world go by....or to keep a look out for weird bloggers that keep driving by to take pictures. :)
How about Yellow and Teal? That's a good combination too! The porch railing has a great detail with the teal inserts. If it were my house I would paint the fence cream and teal....what would YOU do?
Yellow and Grey....now that's a classy combination.
Yellow and Cream with Red Brick Accents..looking good. Love the Craftsman style posts on the porch.
And one more Yellow and White with some touches of red. The brick path is a nice touch!
So, keep an eye out for my next posts....I found some GORGEOUS Green houses that I want to share with you. Happy Memorial Day Everybody!!!!
LOVE YELLOW! It's like sunshine. It's always been my favorite color and I even made my bridesmaids wear it (27 years ago now!) These houses are great-thanks for posting-
ReplyDeleteI love yellow too! When I was a little girl, I would always draw yellow houses with a big tree next to them. Mrs. Jones, my first grade teacher said that meant I had a happy home life! I'll look forward to viewing the other colorful houses you display.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful yellow houses! They are like a ray of sunshine.

ReplyDeleteI love yellow houses. Of course we have one. I want to paint the front door pumpkin. Must think on that some more. Loved your photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable neighborhood you live in. I love every house that you posted a picture of. I just love older houses with character.
ReplyDeleteI just love all of these yellow houses, but the one with the wrap around porch is my fave. Love your blog, too! Merci beaucoup for stopping by my blog and for following! It's so nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan! Oh, I love the yellow houses! Yellow is just so pretty painted on a house. Is this area in the heights?

Hi Susan, I love yellow houses, use to have one and I sure do miss it! Decatur, AL has an open house for Mother's Day weekend. You get to tour some of the gardens and porches of homes in the historic district and have refreshments. Love it! Lori, wildflowerfolkart
ReplyDeleteI would have to say I love the yellow houses! Too charming!
ReplyDeleteYellow houses can easily catch attention. They're bright and attractive, and yellow does seem to go well with brown. The combination kind of goes for a contrast in colors, which makes it quite appealing to the eyes.
ReplyDeleteOh that’s so cute! We also have a yellow house here in our neighborhood. It has a dark blue roof, which makes it look more cartoonish. My kids love that house, and that’s why I’m thinking of doing the same to ours.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your views, Susan. Yellow is an excellent option for your house. You can match it with brown or gray roofing. It is a happy color that can also provide a warm and vibrant ambiance for the residents for the house. Since colors can greatly affect the atmosphere and the mood of the people inside the house, it is a good idea to choose happy colors such as green, yellow, or beige. Just be sure that the color of your roof will also blend with the color of your house.
