Eat, Pray, Love
I can not believe the summer has gone by and I haven't blogged since May. I'm blaming the HOT weather in South Texas...it's just to hot to think. But in honor of the movie "Eat, Pray, Love" coming out, I'm sharing some of my favorite Italy pictures. About 4 years ago I went on a dream trip to Italy with a man I was dating. Shortly after we returned we split. For a while the good memories of Italy were tainted, but now I say...SO WHAT...I GOT TO GO ITALY and he can't ruin it for me. :) So here are some of my great memories.
If you ever saw Under the Tuscan Sun, you might recognize this as Cortona, the city the movie was filmed in. The only thing different about Cortona and the movie was there was no big fountain in the middle of the plaza. The townpeople always get the question....where's the fountain????

Fingerprint Friday--Italian Coast
Beki, over at http://pamperingbeki.blogspot.com/, is hosting her weekly Fingerprint Friday. She invites us to look around and see where YOU can see God's fingerprints. Is it in nature? Kids? Animals? Where do you see them?
I believe God shows his fingerprints in nature everyday. And God's word is faithful that the sun will rise every morning and set every evening. Every day we get to start a new....thank you God!! Below is a sunrise from my favorite travel spot in Italy...Cinque Terra (meaning Five Lands). How can you look at this beautiful view and not believe God's fingerprints are all over this land?
A mid-day shot of the Cinque Terra Coast....God sure does create beautiful colors, too, doesn't he?

Blue Monday---Italian Style
Ciao and Happy Blue Monday! I'm giving this "Blue Monday" thing a whirl. Smiling Sal at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/ is hosting this event. The first picture is of the Blue Train that runs between the five cities of Cinque Terra...one of the most beautiful places on earth. Cinque Terra (Five Lands) is on the northwestern coast of Italy...it's a picturesque community that is similiar to Portofino but still has a lot of the old world charm.
Don't you wish YOU could sail around admiring the beautiful scenery in this sailboat? This was the view from my tiny 3rd floor, walk-up hotel room.

Here's a closer in shot that captures the boats that dock and brought in fresh seafood. This is also the region that invented PESTO,. They also invented a special pasta (???can't remember name) that should be served with the pesto. It's got all sorts of squiggles and wiggles/nooks and crannies in it to allow the pesto to cover the pasta completely. YUMMMM......Monday, November 24, 2008

This is in my FAVORITE place in Italy....it's a city called Vernazza (Cinque Terra/aka Five Lands). It's not as touristy as Portofino and even more picturesque. This pretty pink church is right on the water. This was the view from my hotel room....ahhhhh.......!
and....a pretty pink sunset from may favorite city...you guessed it....VENAZZA! FYI...Vernazza is the city is responsible for creating the delicious dish we know as PESTO....YUMMY!

This is a grape arbor with beautiful pink/red leaves and pink begonias covering the parking lot at the hotel in a small town just outside of Florence. Florence is in sort of a valley and we could see the lights of Florence from our balcony.

I'm not much of a PINK girl....I like the color....I'm just in a brighter color phase as you can see by all my previous blogs. However, I did find some pretty pink pictures in my travel pic folder. Check out these beautiful pics....
The first picture is from my Mission Trip to Honduras this summer. This was taken at a lake-side open air restaurant the locals frequented. These jars were on all the tables as condiments like we would have salt, pepper, and ketchup. It's pickled onion and cabbage.

Here's a cute little PINK bakery in the same city of Vernazza, Italy.

This fun pink balloon sculpture was along with waterways in Venice.
