Treasure to Treasure

This a treasure to treasure (no trash here). My father was a violinist (for his fun and creative time); and a Chemist at a large chemical company by day to pay the bills. He passed away 15 years ago but as a homage to his love of music (and mine) I have created many things with his books of music. One of those creations is in my detached game room/bar area/guest room that sits in my backyard, behind the garage. The low, slanted ceiling in the bath and wet bar have been "wallpapered" with the sheet music. Throughout the years at flea markets/garage sales I've collected some musical instruments I hang on the walls for decoration. Can you see the saxaphone over the toilet?

This view is from inside the bathroom looking out to bar area. You'll also notice that I LOVE Coca-Cola stuff. I also covered the inside of the bathroom door with the music and then painted a thick black strip down the middle. This served as a "matting" of sorts to highlight the Coca-Cola pictures I cut out of an old calendar and then decoupaged onto the door.

  3. So very creative, Susan! I popped over from my blog to meet you, and I'm so glad I did. I don't know where to start. Love all the pet pictures, and I love the tribute you paid to your father. Once, I knew a lady who collected gourmet magazines, and she papered her entire breakfast room with the covers, but this is so much more special since they belonged to your dad.

Thank you for dropping by, and you need to hook up over at Diane's (A Picture's Worth A Thousand Words) to get in on the fun next Thursday. You can clik on my name, and then click on the blogs I follow to get there. Once, you're there, you can copy her address into your blog roll. I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy seeing these!

    Thanks for dropping by...

    XO,

  7. Hi Susan, I'm visiting via Sheila's blog. I've loved my visit here. Your cat Riley is beautiful and Carson is a handsome fellow! How wonderful that you could visit your sponsered child in Honduras. My husband and I sponsor a child in Guatemala and would love to be able to see her some day.
