So....I loaded up some girlfriend's and HAD ONE! Once of my New Year's Resolutions is to get out and about more and make things happen in my life. I'm not going to meet Mr. Right (or Mr. Right for Right Now) by sitting on my couch or at my computer. Don't get me wrong....I LOVE to be a part of this wonderful blogging world (and I'm still going to "sofa surf" on but this is going to be my year of BIG CHANGES and CREATING AN EXCITING LIFE!
Last night was the first night of Beth Moore's new bible study, The Inheritance! Are any of you familiar with her!??!!? I am SO lucky to live in the same city Beth Moore lives in and can easily attend her bible studies because her church is only 5 miles from my house. This study will go on for 8 more weeks and if you'd like more info---here's the link: http://www.lproof.org/houston_connection.aspx If you are in the Houston area and want to come, please do! There isn't a cost to attend, or a study book to buy or homework to do. It's just some good girl bonding time!
Then....I had a chance to attend ANOTHER Girls Night Out...so guess what?!?! I'm going out again! WOOHOO!
Once, again I consider myself very blessed to live in Houston and be able to go to many cool ministries. In a few weeks some of my Honduras Mission Trip Friends and I will be going to see Kate Gosselin, Ayiesha Woods, Renee Swope, Lysa TerKeurst, and Jason Catron.
KSBJ, Christian radio station that is putting this event on has promoted the event as a "Girls Night Out" and asked: Has your dog ever locked you out of the house, while you stood in the backyard half-dressed? Ever gotten to your car after a long, stressful day only to find a parking ticket glaring at you from under the windshield wiper? After reading your blogs I think you ladies could beat some of those stories, hands down! LOL!

ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to live in Houston for lots of reasons. It's really cold outside here. I don't want a girls night out right now. I want to stay in the house and snuggle. But, you get out there and enjoy yourself!! Hugs, Terrie
ReplyDeleteI am going to have my first girls night out in 8 years!!!!
ReplyDeleteGood for you!! I need to do the same thing.
ReplyDeleteI've done one of Beth Moore's studies before. Loved it but it's time consuming so be prepared.
Definitely go have fun!!
Good for you for going out. I know, it is very easy to get sucked into blogging and never want to go anywhere.
ReplyDeleteYay for you!
Jen
Oh I am so jealous. I hope you had lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun, going out with the girls. Kate Gosselin is from my hometown in Pa. I was referred to the producers of the show when they bought and remodeled their first house after the babies were born. Enjoy your night out!
ReplyDeleteKathleen
You go girl, get out there and have some fun just for you!

Hi Susan;
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog today! You are soooo lucky to live in Houston....there is sooooo much to do and see! My husband retires in a couple of years and I would love to live in Houston (we've actually talked about it). I commute from Little Rock to Dallas to work and if we lived in Houston I wouldn't have to commute I could just be based in Houston.
I browsed through your blog and love it! I especially love your house. What part of Houston do you live in?
Come visit anytime.
Hi Susan, I love your attitude for this year! Lucky for you to live near Beth Moore. Our little group just started her "Stepping Up" DVDs and study. She is excellent, to say the least.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words about my cakes. :)
Donna

You really are blessed to have so many ministries close to you. You definitely should get out & live life. Online life is good but it is in the actual living it that you can find even more enjoyment.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Debbie
Hello there, Susan's Colorful Life! Thank you for popping in. We baked pies today in Memory Care. I was blown away by how instinctively the women remembered the fine art of fluting the edges of their pie shells. I sang with them, walked them to lunch and look forward to returning. It's been over 1.5 years since my mom died and now it's not so hard to return.
ReplyDeleteI do wish I lived closer. That sounds like a real girls night out. Have fun!!! Debbie
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog, I appreciate your nice comments! Have fun on your girl's night out! It sounds like you will have a wonderful time. Kristen
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, sounds like a great plan to me, I meet up with a bunch of my girl pals once a month and we have such a laugh. I used to be in Houston about three times a year when I lived in the UK, the company I worked at has their head office there, I love the restaurents, art galleries, shopping etc, etc. I still go occasionally as hubby has meetings there. have fun, Kathy.
ReplyDeleteI am still rofl at your ski experiences in Tahoe, were you at Heavenly? lol.
How fun. I would LOVE to meet Kate Gosselin! Nothing beats a good girl's night out, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteThis fellow Texas gal is so jealous! I travel to houston every couple of months but I won't be there when Kate Gosselin will be there. What a great event!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like so much fun! We watch Jon & Kate pl;us 8 all the time. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteVery cool that you live in Houston and get to attend Beth's weekly study! I just saw from your comment today (1-23) on Smelling Coffee that you went to this Prov. 31 girls night out, and it was wonderful! So glad for you to get to enjoy these things the Lord has placed around you! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving me a comment.
ReplyDeleteI must say I am very jealous (in a good way, of course) that 1. you get to go to Beth's study each week and 2. you went to the girls' night out with Lysa!!! Wow!
I am enjoying your blog so much... what great taste you have. I love the new curtains at your kitchen sink. I have a red kitchen (with black and white accents) too!
Blessings from NC!
