It's An Elephant!

Please forgive me for not posting sooner. My computer is giving me trouble. I've been working hard on some projects and am anxious to post them, but in the meantime...here's a cute little story!

We who have taught, or just love children know this is funny!

From the diary of a Pre-School Teacher:

My five-year-old students are learning to read.

Yesterday one of them pointed at a picture in a zoo book and said,

"Look at this! It's a frickin' elephant!"I took a deep breath, then asked..."What did you call it?""It's a frickin' elephant! It says so on the picture!"

And so it does...

" A f r i c a n Elephant "

Hooked on phonics! Ain't it wonderful?

  10. That is HILARIOUS! We live in the NW and have some very dear friends in Hawaii whom my daughter has never met. Their names are Flip and Lei.....so it becomes.....Flip-n-Lei........I talked about them a lot because they are so dear. Finally one day my daughter asked why I didn't like Lei??? WHAT??? I couldn't figure out where she'd get that idea, I LOVE Lei......you know, Mom.......Flippin Lei???

    Warm blessings!
