This weekend my crafty friends got together for another fun day of crafting. This time we made St. Patrick's Day Garlands. I feel LUCKY to have friends that like to craft, enjoy good food and visit and laugh while creating. Jennifer, far left, found us a cute example to go by but there was no tutorial....so if, this was your post, let me know. Your picture was so cute, I want to give you credit!
It's so funny how we all look at an example and then make it our own with the fabrics, materials, ideas, etc of our choosing. Since I like vintage thing and love ephemera, I turned my garland (above) into a more vintage-y version.
Our hostess made us a St. Patrick's themed lunch with Irish Stew, Green Soda Bread, and Green Peach Ice Tea. Cheers to you Denise and Jennifer!
And here's the Hostess with the Most-est...Fredna. She always throws a great party and everything is so coordinated. I should REALLY get her involved in Blogging....she'd be awesome at TableScapes. She's also an expert seamstress and can whip up the cutest pillows and drapes.
Here are some of the items I pulled together to create my garland. Here is work in progress for some of the other ladies project.
The crafting table....where the creative juices were flowing...........
And here's my finished project.........I have a little bit more tweaking to do. It will go up on the mantle soon.
Are YOU lucky enough to have friends that like to do crafts with you??? Or do you prefer to work alone? I enjoy seeing every one's own personality emerge when I'm with a group...and of course, the girl talk is priceless. What's said at the crafting table----stays at the crafting table! RIGHT!!??!?! LOL!
I love crafting with friends! We have had one craft night the last two months with another to come in March and April. Just 5 of us, we love keeping it to a small group so we can help each other out. I'm usually the one to put together the projects so I get to show up with the supplies. The other girls are in charge of the food. We are enjoying it so much! Love seeing your completed project!
ReplyDeleteLooks like great fun! Your banner is adorable. All my friends believe they are artistically challenged. I even invited one to come over and make something with me in my art room and she never responded, LOL!
ReplyDeleteLooks like ya'll had a great time! I would love to get together with friends, but instead of crafting, I would be building something. :)
ReplyDeleteNice blog!
thanks for visiting my blog and commenting on my media center. Tomorrow I show the finished product! :)

You are so "lucky" to have crafting friends. My friends are not into crafting (even my sisters don't like crafting) so I work alone. Now my sisters LOVE what I make and give them...they just don't like going through the process of making it themselves....I think they figured out a great plan :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog and following..going to do the same!

Blessings,
Necel from the Old House in Texas

What a great group of gals! No, I do not have friends who enjoy getting together to craft. Sometimes I have big plans for such an event, but it's usually for Thanksgiving afternoon or something...too much going on. So I should explore this idea more. Yes, you should invite your friend to Blogdom. I can tell that she'd love to play!
ReplyDeleteGreat time with good friends, it looks like.
