My new friend, Jessica at blogged about the snow too. She got some AWESOME pictures. It looks like her side of town got more than mine....but I was ecstatic with everything I got! What a great early Christmas present. Now, if Santa will bring me a better camera I'll be able to share BEAUTIFUL pictures like Jessica. My camera's older and I can tell the difference in the photos.
Palms and snow....what a conundrum!

Beautiful berries covered in snow! We are really beginning to see accumulation...WOOO!

Isn't everything prettier with a dusting of snow!?!?!

So....that was last night...and this morning it's all gone except the memories and pictures! It's sunny and expected to get to 58, which generally, us Texans think of as very chilly. However, now that we've been over to "THE WHITE SIDE"....we may never be the same. Hehehe!

  1. You guys are cracking me up! Whenever I see someone say "beautiful snow" or "yay we got snow" I know they live in a warm climate or they are just plain BLOOMING NUTS! I'll tell you what...I'll GIVE you all the snow we get here in New England lol...and when you're done shoveling...I'll send you some more. I would kill for a palm tree and a sweater this time of year!!!!

  2. I just love seeing the snow on the palms. How pretty is that!!

  3. Wow!!! Maybe there is a chance that we'll get snow in San Diego! There is always hope!
Thank you for stopping by Our Scented Cottage. I'm happy you reconnected with a recipe from your childhood. Those are the best! :)
    Have a great day,

  4. It is so fun to see your excitement, Susan! It definitely shows on your face. I'm so happy you consider it "a present!" I LOVE your pretty red chairs, and yes they do look darling with a coating of snow on them! :)

  5. HAHA! YEA! We got snow!!! Yeas, I live souteast of Houston, close to Jessica! Looks like we got a tiny bit more out this way. It was pretty cool though huh?!?

    Nice to meet you too!

    Buffie :)

  6. Hi Susan, thanks for stopping by my blog so I could "find" yours. My parents live in Houston, right by Hobby Airport and my father called me giddy as a child letting me know it was snowing away last night!! I grew up there and you don't see snow very much especially not in Merry Christmas!!! Great pictures!!

  7. Love seeing your snow. We don't get much around my parts. My DH's parents goto Donna TX for the winter b/c it's warmer then NC. A few years ago they had a white Christmas (they had snow on the grapefruit plants)and I must say I don't think we ever have in my city, NC.

  8. You are too funny! heheh thats is just a dusting of snow!
Would you like to trade winters for the rest of the season? Boy I would! lol
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love yours, it's so much fun reading it! I also like reading about your cool green ways of making new cool things out of junk!
Enjoy the dusting of the white stuff!

  9. We are going to get snow this weekend and high winds-what fun! UUGGHH! It is fun when you don't get it much. It is not too bad here most of the time but every once in a while we get hit pretty good. I love how peacful it is as the snow is falling. I am from Southern California so for me it is a big deal. The first time I ever saw it really snow I was traveling in Utah and I went crazy I was so excited! LoL!Have fun with your sprinkling of snow! LoL!

  10. I agree with nikkicrumpet!!! Up here in Northern Ontario, Canada - when we get snow - we get about a foot or so. Now, that's snow.
It's pretty when it's a little bit on palm trees, for sure.
We JUST got another 6 inches overnight. To me, each day here brings another day of shovelling. Sometimes - even if it is pretty, you just want to scream so you can dig your driveway out, try to unfreeze the garage door, open it up, and drive the car out!!!!!
Sounds lovely to be 58F though, I must admit. Enjoy it down there!

  11. Okay...maybe I am the ONLY person in Houston that is sooooo glad this "white stuff" is gone! And no way will I EVER go to the other side! :)

Remind me to tell you the story about my night drive from Alberq. to Santa Fe in April and wondered why those people did not "spray for all those bugs flying in the air??? Cause they were really bad! (Hummm...friend tells you see any of these "bugs" splatting on the window?) Oh...nope??? Why don't you stick your head out the window & see what kind of "bugs" those are?'s snow!!!! (told you I was from the deeeep South...tried & true) :)

  12. Hi Susan~ I'm in Southeast Houston...not far from Buffie. :) I'm going to add you to blog roll, okay! Come by real soon. :)

    Hugs~ J

  13. A dusting of snow is SO pretty. This is my first visit to your blog, and I just scrolled down to see your wonderful Christmas book collection. I love older books, and your collection is great. I'll be back to visit often. laurie

  14. Loved that! Wish we could get some snow here in California, but that's not likely to happen so I just have to live thru you. :)

  15. Well, at least you have the pics & the memories of snow! ;-) Bo

  16. Wow, you really DID get a nice dusting! I almost said "Hey! You stole our snow!", as they were saying we were under a winter weather advisory here, and that flurries were possible. Didn't happen though - it just stayed miserably cold, but is now warming up. I love the shots of the frost on the palms. That's certainly not something you see everyday!

  17. Wow, great photos! Who would believe snow on palm trees?!
    Sandra Evertson

  18. Whoooooo, hooooo!!! We're getting a dusting too!

  19. Snow in Texas ? who knew.

I would think it would melt before it hit the ground. It looks pretty on the red chairs.

  20. hahaha...I needed that little chuckle. :) Thank you and thank you very much for your encouragement.

  21. Susan isn't the snow wonderful?!!It looks so beautiful on the palms! I have my fingers crossed that we'll get some snow tomorow! And I live up north and am supposed to get snow! Durnit!! This isn't fair! *winks* Vanna

  22. Lots of snow here in Michigan!! My kids have already had two snow days off from school.

I could use a new camera too. That doesn't quite fit into our budget right now. My blogs pictures look quite dull. I think your photos all look very nice. I have enjoyed looking around.

    Merry Christmas!

  23. Hi Susan...stopping by tonight to see how you are doing. Hope you have a good week! :)

  24. Morning Susan! Love the white dusting on the red chairs; that is all the snow I can now handle!!!!lol (I used to shovel the stuff all the time and can't stand it anymore)! Now that the excitement is over I'll bet you won't want to see it again either! Have a warm day - Sincerely, Jeannette
